General Responsibilities:
Weld leaks on steel mains, maintaining and repairing heavy equipment. Light fabrication duties as needed.
Essential Job Functions:
- Weld leak patches, sleeves, tapping saddles and other maintenance and repair on steel mains as needed
- Perform fabrication of tapping saddles, roll cages for tractors, and meter vault lids, T-wrenches, steps, handrails, etc
- Weld various metals to repair heavy equipment such as trailers, bumpers, and bush hogs
- Inspect, maintain and repair all vehicles and heavy equipment, including oil changes, tune-ups, brakes, tire rotation, clutch replacement, WB hub, wiring problems, U-joint replacement on drive shafts, transfer case repair, engines, drive shaft, trailer brake and light connections, gearboxes, hydraulic hoses and cylinders, buckets, clutches, final drive and rollers, track adjustments, etc
- Supervise leak repair sites by assigning work tasks to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and within established safety policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate equipment records and parts inventory
- Review and note sketches to discuss any hazardous conditions on the job site with supervisors
- Review and answer customers' complaints on low pressure, red water, construction conditions of streets or sidewalks, etc
- Communicate with customers by providing excellent customer service while performing duties
- Operate the assigned vehicle, keep it clean and report all mechanical problems Maintain a valid driver's license
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety policies and procedures when driving company vehicles
- On-call hours and expected to work extended hours as needed to support the business
- Work an on-call rotating schedule outside the regular schedule on a rotating basis
- Perform all work safely in accordance with established safety policies and procedures Comply with all safety and health standards and guidelines issued by management

Education:
Highschool diploma or equivalent required
Associate degree or equivalent preferred
Certifications
Experience:
Five (5) years of welding, piping or raw water field activities experience required. Basic computer skills preferred; excellent customer relations and communication skills preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Welding Certification preferred or obtain within 18 months
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) class A required
- ADEM Grade I Certification preferred

- Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods
- Reaching by excreting hand(s) or arms(s) in any direction
- Finger dexterity is required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard

Working Environment:
- Loud noise; work indoors and outdoors, exposed to extreme hot/cold/wet weather conditions.
