General Responsibilities:

Assist the Supervisor and the field employees in their daily workload to respond to customers’ meter leaks and repair issues to ensure proper tap during construction of new build.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Remove, review, edit, and change orders from printer and dispatch to proper personnel or departments.
  • Triage calls from customers to determine where the issues should be routed for issuance in the field.
  • Assist the call center agents with handling customer inquiries and help them with proper response and resolution.
  • Monitors work assigned to the crew to ensure orders are handled promptly.
  • Responsible for sending information to the crews to ensure emergency orders are flagged in their handheld devices.
  • Uses Microsoft Office (Excel) to manage paperwork regarding new orders for taps to ensure all pertinent information is tracked for record-keeping.
  • Enters new tap information in SAP to help set the route for the readers.
  • Answer calls from customers about meter readings and billing issues.
  • Load, unload and perform any maintenance to handhelds as needed.

  • Must be familiar with the standard operating procedures of other internal departments.
  • Assign orders to proper personnel.
  • Maintain records in all required books, collect pictures, scan images of taps to inspectors and other departments.
  • Schedule appointments for plumbers with inspectors.
  • Research and reroute orders related to meter shop, distribution, leak dept and maintenance to implement work orders.
  • Demonstrate continuous efforts to improve operations, works cooperatively and jointly to provide quality service
  • Assist in correcting tap order issues on accounts involving meters from other departments.
  • Research accounts that require orders to correct billing issues to make sure they're billing correctly.
  • Coordinate activities in special complaint orders received from customers and employees.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Certifications

Valid Driver’s License required

Experience:

Four (4) years of customer service, clerical or administrative experience required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Ability to type at least 40 WPM preferred.
