General Responsibilities:
Review the operation and maintenance of all raw water facilities. Assist in technical work (mechanical, electrical, etc.) associated with all pump stations, dams, and appurtenances. Monitor budget compliance at all facilities.
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform the duties of the Department Manager in their absence
- Responsible for ensuring reliable and efficient operations at seven raw water pump stations, three dams, two unmanned booster stations and two reservoirs Supervise and review theoperation of plants, dams, tank sites, kv substations, reservoirs and other related sites
- Direct and assist Pump Station and Dam Supervisors in malfunctioning equipment repair and arranging maintenance schedules of motors, cone valves, pumps and other associated appurtenances
- Review schedules of appropriate mechanical and electrical equipment tests to ensure efficient operation of pump station facilities
- Review schedules and workforce requirements and arrange for proper manning of all facilities
- Approve and submit purchase requisitions in SAP Create a department budget in SAP and work within it
- Inspect the operation, maintenance and condition of pumps, reservoirs and dams Conduct emergency troubleshooting as required and makes necessary adjustments
- Perform duties of supervisors of all facilities who may be absent for any reason
- Operate all raw water facilities as needed
- Advise and consult with the manager on all water facilities' operation, maintenance and status
- View all facilities to see that supervisors are keeping grounds, structures and facilities adequately maintained and perform quarterly inspections
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws Ensure all organizational policies and guidelines are adhered to and administered correctly, including the HR Management Guide, Employee Handbook, reviewing and approving timesheets,expense reports, complying with applicable employment laws, purchasing guidelines, bid law, etc
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

- Maintain and protect sensitive and private information by keeping employee records confidential in accordance with HIPAA, local, state and federal laws and regulations

Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Certifications
Experience:
Six (6) years of working knowledge of raw water pump stations, dams and SCADA system operations; ability to instruct others in operation and maintenance of equipment, perform pump testing as required. Three (3) years of supervisory-related experience required.
For internal candidates, the successful completion of the following BWW leadership development programs may be counted towards the required supervisory experience:
- Pre-Supervisory Program (STAR) = one year of supervisory experience
- Succession Planning Program = one year of supervisory

- Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods
- Reaching by excreting hand(s) or arms(s) in any direction
- Finger dexterity is required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s),for example, using a keyboard

Working Environment:
- High noise levels; work indoors and outdoors, exposed to extreme hot/cold/wet weather conditions
- Work in proximity of operating machinery, high voltage and corrosive materials
- Work in proximity to open water
- On-call 24 hours, seven (7) days a week
