Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:00 am until 4:30 pm

Salary: $35.02($72,858.42 - $103,768.07) - $49.89

 

General Responsibilities

Supervise and direct the GIS development team, identify and implement new technology, interface directly with BWW personnel on GIS matters, and report on GIS tasks to other department managers and executive staff. The position is deadline driven and requires a high degree of organization and leadership to maintain multiple fronts of client interface, cross-discipline coordination, project delivery, and staff development.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Interface daily with end-user stakeholders for problem resolution, planning and goal setting, and expectation management.
  2. Interact with a team consisting of developers, cartographers, data managers, analysts, and support specialists.
  3. Manage existing GIS delivery workflow, develop, and maintain performance metrics, and pursue opportunities for continuous improvement.
  4. Promote and ensure a high level of product quality through frequent measurement and evaluation of GIS development review, quality assurance, and quality control procedures, led by example in this area.
  5. Daily interaction with the GIS Team and other internal stakeholders for program delivery coordination, strategy development and execution.
  6. Meet with individual departments to define data needs, project requirements, required outputs, and develop applications.
  7. Maintain and update database, applying additional knowledge of spatial feature   representations.
  8. Perform all work safely in accordance with established safety policies and procedures. Comply with all safety and health standards and guidelines issued by management.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, or a related field required.

Experience

Six (6) years of experience as a GIS Analyst or similar position with professional-level experience in design, development, implementation, and GIS administration. Advanced knowledge in the use of ESRI’s ArcGIS Desktop and server tools and software. Strong capabilities in SQL Server or similar data management, data sourcing, and query. Excellent customer service skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Preferred Qualifications; Experience working in/for municipal agencies or with utility infrastructure work. Experience creating mobile GIS content using ArcGIS Online / Portal environments for use with Collector for ArcGIS and Explorer for ArcGIS apps. Understanding of using Python scripting to automate GIS workflows. Strong understanding of GIS system architecture and workflows. Proficiency in administering Microsoft SharePoint. Experience creating reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SAP Crystal Reports. Understanding and experience with hydraulic modeling and non-revenue water. Knowledge and experience with the latest ESRI Water and Sewer data models and/or equivalent Model Software . Experience with business intelligence systems such as PowerBI or Tableau.  Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Valid Driver’s license required
  • GIS Program Certificate required
  • Geographic Information Systems Profession (GISP) Certification preferred
