General Responsibilities:

The primary role of the YWA Summer Teacher/Driver will be to transport students to various destinations throughout the summer while ensuring their safety and accurately tracking their working hours.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Safely transport students to multiple destinations in a timely manner, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the journey.

2. Follow pre-determined routes and schedules, adjusting for traffic or other unexpected circumstances as necessary.

3. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, regularly conducting safety inspections and reporting any maintenance or repair needs.

4. Professionally and courteously interact with students, their parents, and the BWWB YWA Coordinator.

5. Keep accurate records of hours worked for each student assigned authorities and school administrators.

6. Assist in the supervision and guidance of students during the transportation periods. 7. Support and contribute to an inclusive and respectful environment that fosters positive student engagement

Education:

High School Diploma, bachelor’s degree in business, Education or related field required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certifications

Valid Driver’s License required

Experience:

1. Previous experience as a driver, preferably with a history of working with students or children.

2. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.

3. Exceptional time management skills to ensure prompt and accurate arrival and pickup times.

4. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

5. Ability to work independently while adhering to the established schedule and guidelines.

6. Flexibility to accommodate any necessary adjustments to routes or schedules.

7. Patience, maturity, and a proven ability to maintain calmness in stressful situations.

8. Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening required.

Supervision:

Directly: 10-11 Young Water Ambassadors

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods of time
  • Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction
  • Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard
  • Communication skills using the spoken word
  • Ability to see within normal parameters
  • Ability to hear within normal range
  • Ability to move about

Working Environment:

  • Moderate Noise (Business Office)
  • Occasionally visit job sites, in plants or outdoors, exposed to extreme hot/cold and or wet weather conditions
